Responsibilities of A Fashion Designer :

• Develop a strong aesthetic for both Indian wear and Indo-western wear.
• Conduct periodical market surveys to inform design development based on both national and international market trends.
• Actively forecast trends in colour, silhouette, and surface work.
• Study evolving brand requirements and develop samples accordingly.
• Source fabrics and trims from the market.
• Maintain records of samples made and raw materials sourced.
• Create detailed technical sketches using Adobe Illustrator.
• Define the cost of samples.
• Consistently achieve weekly and monthly targets, including making necessary amendments to samples.
• Hand over approved styles to the sourcing and production team within 24 hours of approval.
• Maintain records of samples and submit weekly and monthly performance reports.
• Assess products for commercial viability.
• Assist in photoshoots and provide inputs for the seasonal look book.
• Accurately describe products for upload on e-commerce websites.
• Be prepared to travel for development work. Skills Required:
• Prefer NIFT candidate only with more than 8.0 CGPA
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Canva.
• Keen eye for colour, texture, and pattern.
• Strong knowledge of fabrics, silhouettes, and surface ornamentation.
• Technical skills in pattern cutting, grading, and garment construction.

Job Description – Textile Designer

• Develop original textile concepts, prints, patterns, embroideries, and surface designs for Indian wear and Indo-western collections.
• Research and forecast trends in colours, fabrics, textures, prints, and textile techniques based on national and international fashion markets.
• Create innovative fabric developments, placements, repeats, motifs, and surface ornamentation concepts aligned with brand aesthetics.
• Prepare textile artworks, print files, and technical design layouts using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
• Source fabrics, trims, yarns, swatches, and surface development materials from the market.
• Maintain records of textile developments, fabric swatches, strike-offs, embroidery samples, and sourced materials.
• Ensure colour accuracy, print quality, fabric compatibility, and production feasibility of developed designs.
• Work closely with fashion designers and production teams to finalize textile developments for bulk production.
• Develop seasonal textile themes and mood boards as per collection requirements.
• Meet daily and weekly development targets and make necessary corrections/amendments in designs and samples.
• Hand over approved textile artworks and development files to the sourcing/production team within timelines.
• Assess textile developments for commercial viability and customer appeal.
• Assist in photoshoots, catalogue shoots, and seasonal look book preparations by providing textile styling inputs.
• Prepare accurate product descriptions related to fabric, print, embroidery, and textile details for e-commerce uploads.
• Be prepared to travel for fabric sourcing, exhibitions, vendor visits, and development work.

Skills Required:

· Preferably NIFT candidate with more than 8 CGPA.

· Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Canva.

· Strong understanding of textile design, print development, embroideries, and surface ornamentation techniques.

· Excellent sense of colour, texture, fabric combinations, and pattern balance.

· Knowledge of fabric types, weaving, dyeing, printing techniques, and textile construction.

· Ability to create repeat patterns, placements, and technical textile artworks.

· Strong market awareness and trend forecasting ability.

· Good coordination and communication skills with vendors and production teams.

· Ability to work under deadlines and achieve development targets.
