Job Description

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior RPA Developer to lead the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of automation solutions for Provider Passport. The role will focus on automating repeatable operational workflows, improving data accuracy, reducing manual processing effort, and integrating automation with healthcare provider lifecycle processes. The ideal candidate can translate operational needs into reliable automation designs, work closely with product and engineering teams, and maintain production automations with strong attention to security, exception handling, monitoring, and auditability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support RPA solutions for Provider Passport workflows.
  • Automate provider onboarding, credentialing, document processing, data validation, status updates, notifications, and operational follow-up tasks.
  • Analyze current business processes, identify automation opportunities, and recommend practical automation approaches.
  • Create reusable automation components, libraries, templates, and standards for scalable RPA delivery.
  • Build resilient automations with clear exception handling, logging, retry logic, alerts, and operational dashboards.
  • Integrate bots with web applications, APIs, databases, document repositories, email, spreadsheets, and third-party systems where applicable.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, product managers, QA testers, developers, and operations stakeholders to refine requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Prepare solution design documents, process design documents, deployment notes, runbooks, and support documentation.
  • Perform unit testing, peer reviews, bot validation, defect resolution, and production release support.
  • Monitor bot performance, investigate production issues, and continuously improve automation stability, throughput, and maintainability.
  • Mentor junior automation developers and contribute to RPA governance, coding standards, and best practices.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5 or more years of experience in software development, automation engineering, or enterprise application delivery.
  • 3 or more years of hands-on RPA development experience using tools such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, Microsoft Power Automate, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of RPA design patterns, bot orchestration, queues, credential management, scheduling, exception handling, and monitoring.
  • Experience automating web applications, portals, forms, document workflows, data entry, approvals, and operational back-office processes.
  • Ability to work with APIs, databases, structured files, spreadsheets, PDFs, emails, and document repositories.
  • Working knowledge of scripting or programming languages such as Python, C#, JavaScript, PowerShell, or VB.NET.
  • Experience creating technical documentation, process documentation, test evidence, release notes, and production support runbooks.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose issues across automation logic, source data, application behavior, and environment configuration.
  • Good understanding of security, access control, audit trails, data privacy, and change management in automation delivery.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare, provider credentialing, payer operations, compliance workflows, HR onboarding, or document-heavy operational environments.
  • UiPath Advanced Developer, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, or Microsoft Power Platform certification.
  • Experience with OCR, intelligent document processing, forms recognition, document classification, or AI-assisted extraction.
  • Experience with CI/CD, source control, environment promotion, and automation lifecycle management.
  • Familiarity with Agile or Scrum delivery methods.
  • Understanding of HIPAA-aligned privacy expectations or similar regulated data handling requirements.

Candidate Profile

The right candidate is a senior hands-on automation developer who understands both technical delivery and operational reality. They should be comfortable working through ambiguous workflow details, asking precise questions, building dependable automations, and improving existing bots over time. They should value maintainability as much as initial delivery.
