Company Description Support patients receiving care within a military healthcare environment by maintaining accurate medical records and providing responsive administrative support to patients and clinical teams. Job Description As a Medical Records Clerk, you'll maintain the accurate, timely patient information that clinicians rely on to coordinate care. Working onsite within a military healthcare environment, you'll manage paper and electronic records, assist patients and visitors, route clinical messages, and provide day-to-day administrative support. Employment Type: Full-Time Compensation:

  • $20.48–$22.75 USD per hour
  • Health & Welfare (H&W): Up to $5.09 per hour, in accordance with the Service Contract Act (SCA).
Work Arrangement: Onsite in Tampa, Florida Schedule: Monday–Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Assigned schedules consist of eight working hours and a 60-minute unpaid meal break, totaling 40 hours per week. Key Responsibilities
  • Initiate, maintain, retrieve, distribute, and process patient medical records for appropriate retention or retirement.
  • File patient-care documentation in the official medical record and locate or request missing treatment information.
  • Manage front-desk interactions by greeting patients and visitors, answering the main telephone line, directing calls, and taking messages.
  • Electronically route telephone consultation messages to primary care managers and clinic nurses using established systems and clinic guidelines.
  • Prepare medical-record statistics and reports and participate in record reviews supporting quality assurance activities.
  • Use computers, electronic health record systems, copiers, printers, fax machines, and telephone systems to support medical-record operations.
Qualifications Requirements
  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalency.
  • Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification.
  • 6+ months of medical office scheduling experience.
  • 1+ year of experience handling patient records in a healthcare setting, including use of electronic health records or medical office software.
  • Experience performing related administrative duties in a medical clinic or medical office.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements.
  • U.S. citizenship required due to contract requirements.
