Looking for a mid level and a Senior level mechanical engineer (or similar) who can design building systems — primarily HVAC, — for commercial and institutional buildings like schools, hospitals, government offices, etc.
Primary Responsibilities: Responsible for the detailed design of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and/or low-voltage electrical systems in commercial and institutional buildingsPerform field inspections of existing buildings to obtain existing condition take-offs needed for design and detailing workWork with clients and other project stakeholders to determine and coordinate overall system requirementsConstruction administration services – submittal and shop drawing reviews, review and respond to RFI, schedule coordination, etc.Supervisory Responsibilities:N/AEducation and/or Experience: Minimum of 5-years of broad-based design experience as an engineer within a consulting environmentBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical EngineeringDemonstrated ability as a problem solverKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong AutoCAD skillsCompetency with MS Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)Experience with online project management platforms such as BlueBeam, ProCore, and Submittal ExchangeDirect experience in systems installation or with a contractor is a plusProfessional Engineer licensure is a plus but not preferredMid-Level CandidatesMid-level Mechanical Project Engineers should be comfortable performing the majority of their own engineering and design work, including field surveys, calculations, equipment selection, system design, AutoCAD construction documents, and construction administration.Senior CandidatesSenior-level candidates will take greater responsibility for engineering and technical design, project coordination, and overall mechanical system solutions. Senior engineers may receive production and data-entry assistance from junior engineering/design staff while maintaining responsibility for the engineering and design of the project.Field RequirementsThe position includes periodic field surveys and inspections of existing buildings. xzbcwsv Field activity will vary by project but will typically involve several days per month.
