Position Summary

Manav Rachna Sports Academy is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Badminton Coach to lead its badminton programme. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in coaching players from beginner to advanced competitive levels and possess the ability to design structured training programmes, mentor coaches, and develop athletes capable of competing at district, state, national, and international levels.

The Head Coach will be responsible for the overall planning, execution, and growth of the badminton academy while maintaining the highest standards of coaching and athlete development.

Key Responsibilities

Coaching & Athlete Development

• Plan and conduct systematic badminton coaching sessions for beginner, intermediate, and advanced players.
• Develop annual and long-term athlete development plans.
• Identify and nurture talented players for competitive badminton.
• Prepare athletes for district, state, national, and international tournaments.
• Monitor athlete performance through regular assessments and maintain progress reports.
• Implement age-appropriate technical, tactical, physical, and mental training programmes.

Academy Leadership

• Lead and supervise the badminton coaching team.
• Ensure consistency and quality across all coaching sessions.
• Develop coaching schedules and training calendars.
• Mentor assistant coaches and support their professional development.
• Coordinate with academy management regarding programme planning and athlete development.

Parent & Athlete Communication

• Conduct periodic parent meetings and provide athlete progress updates.
• Address athlete and parent concerns professionally.
• Promote a positive learning environment focused on discipline and sportsmanship.

Administration

• Maintain attendance, training reports, and player performance records.
• Ensure proper maintenance and inventory of badminton equipment.
• Follow academy policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
• Assist in organising tournaments, camps, workshops, and promotional events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Coaching, Sports Science, or a related field (preferred).
• BWF, BAI, NIS, or equivalent recognized badminton coaching certification.

Experience

• Minimum 5-10 years of badminton coaching experience.
• At least 2 years in a leadership or head coach role is preferred.
• Experience coaching beginner, intermediate, and advanced players.
• Proven track record of producing players who have competed successfully at the district, state, or national level.
• Experience working in academies, schools, universities, or high-performance centres.
