Senior Tax Manager – US Individual Tax | HNI | 1040 | CPA Firm Experience

Location: Gurugram

Experience: 8–12 years

Work Model: Hybrid – 3 days from the office

⏰ Working Hours: 2 PM – 11 PM IST

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Tax Manager with 8–12+ years of US Individual Tax experience, preferably at a US CPA/tax firm , with strong experience in 1040, HNI/UHNI, K-1 , complex tax return review , and team management . Experience in a CPA firm or mid-sized firm is strongly preferred .

Must-Have Experience:

• 8–12+ years of relevant US Individual Tax experience.
• Strong experience with Form 1040 preparation and review .
• Experience working with US CPA firms, tax firms, or public accounting firms .
• Experience handling HNI/UHNI and complex individual tax returns .
• Strong knowledge of 1065/1120S K-1 reporting and pass-through taxation .
• Experience with complex areas such as real estate, capital gains, passive activity losses, and international reporting .
• Exposure to FBAR, FATCA, Form 8938, PFIC, Form 3520/5471/2555 is highly preferred.
• Experience managing and reviewing the work of Tax Preparers and Tax Reviewers .
• Ability to independently identify tax issues, research solutions, and provide technical guidance.
• Strong client communication and stakeholder management skills.

You should be someone who can:

• Independently review and manage complex 1040 returns.
• Understand the complete tax picture rather than only one section of a return.
• Identify technical tax issues and determine the appropriate treatment.
• Work directly with preparers and reviewers to resolve issues.
• Communicate confidently with US-based tax professionals and clients.
• Handle complex HNI/UHNI tax situations.
• Take ownership of tax engagements and deadlines.

Candidates whose experience is limited to tax processing, data preparation, tax operations, or a specialized portion of the US tax return process without hands-on individual tax preparation/review experience may not be suitable for this role.
