MIT ADT University is seeking an experienced, creative, and data-driven Manager – Social Media to lead the university’s digital presence and strategic social engagement. Operating within the Media Department, the incumbent will be responsible for conceptualizing, executing, and optimizing end-to-end social media strategies across all major platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook, X, etc.).

This role requires a balance of brand storytelling, campus coverage, reputation management, and lead-generation campaigns during admissions cycles. The ideal candidate will bridge academic excellence with modern content trends to engage prospective students, current undergraduates, alumni, and industry partners.

Key Responsibilities

1. Social Media Strategy & Brand Building

  • Develop and execute a multi-channel social media roadmap aligned with the university’s broader branding and marketing objectives.
  • Maintain and uphold brand guidelines across all social channels, ensuring a consistent tone, high visual standards, and messaging integrity.
  • Conceptualize creative campaigns to highlight university milestones, research achievements, campus events, cultural festivals (e.g., Personafest), and student success stories.

2. Content Creation & Campaign Execution

  • Oversee a team of content creators, graphic designers, copywriters, and video editors to produce engaging original content (Reels, Shorts, carousels, live streams, and long-form video).
  • Collaborate with the Admissions & Digital Marketing teams to design and deploy organic and paid social campaigns aimed at driving student enrollments.
  • Plan and execute coverage for live campus events, guest lectures, convocations, and VIP visits in real-time.

3. Community Management & Reputation

  • Monitor active conversations, mentions, and direct messages across channels; ensure timely responses to queries from prospective students and parents.
  • Manage online brand reputation by proactively monitoring sentiment and resolving complaints or negative press in coordination with University Leadership and Public Relations.

4. Performance Analytics & Insights

  • Track, analyze, and report key social media performance metrics (reach, engagement, CTR, conversion rates, follower growth) on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Utilize social listening tools and platform analytics to identify emerging digital trends, audience behavior shifts, and continuous improvement opportunities.

5. Leadership & Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders—including the School of Design, College of Engineering, International School of Broadcasting & Journalism (ISBJ), and Executive Leadership—to source stories and promote department-specific initiatives.
  • Manage student ambassador networks and social media interns, leveraging student-led content for authentic campus storytelling.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Digital Marketing, Media Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5 to 8 years of professional experience in social media management, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial or team lead role.
  • Prior experience in Higher Education, EdTech, or large-scale media agencies is highly preferred.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Technical Proficiency: Expert knowledge of native analytics tools (Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn Page Analytics, YouTube Studio, X Analytics) and social management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Buffer).
  • Creative Eye: Strong visual sense for video production, reel trends, graphic aesthetics, and editorial copywriting.
  • Data-Driven Mindset: Ability to convert analytics data into actionable social campaign strategies.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills; proficiency in Hindi/Marathi is a plus.
  • Agility & Adaptability: Ability to perform under tight deadlines and adjust strategies based on platform algorithm shifts.
