Hydrovac Driver-Operator

Lester Brothers Excavation, Inc. is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Hydrovac Driver Operator. This position operates hydrovac equipment to safely expose underground utilities, perform non-destructive excavation, and clean drains, manholes, lift stations, catch basins, and related infrastructure.

What You’ll Do

• Safely drive and operate a hydrovac truck and related equipment.
• Perform potholing, daylighting, trenching, vacuum excavation, and utility exposure.
• Clean drains, manholes, lift stations, and catch basins.
• Inspect, clean, fuel, grease, and prepare the truck and equipment for each assignment.
• Review utility markings and site conditions and establish a safe work area.
• Monitor equipment performance and promptly report damage or maintenance concerns.
• Transport and discharge spoils at approved locations and complete required documentation.
• Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, utility representatives, and coworkers.
• Follow all DOT, OSHA, MIOSHA, customer-site, and company safety requirements.
• Participate in a rotating emergency on-call schedule, including occasional nights and weekends.

What We’re Looking For

• Valid Class A or Class B CDL.
• Current DOT medical card, acceptable driving record, and FMCSA Clearinghouse status of Not Prohibited.
• Hydrovac, vacuum-truck, utility, excavation, underground-construction, or similar experience is preferred.
• Ability to work independently, make safe decisions, and complete paper and electronic records.
• Reliable attendance and availability for early mornings, extended shifts, overtime, and rotating on-call assignments.
• Ability to pass required pre-employment screening, including a DOT drug screen, background check, MVR review, and post-offer DOT physical.

Physical and Work Requirements

This is a physically active outdoor position. Employees must be able to frequently enter and exit the truck, work on uneven or muddy terrain, handle hoses and equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds independently.

Work is performed outdoors in changing weather and around traffic, construction equipment, utilities, noise, dust, mud, wastewater, and spoils.
