Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Room patients, verify patient information, obtain vital signs, and document routine information in the medical record according to established procedures.
Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and supplies for patient visits, procedures, and daily clinic operations.
Assist physicians and other licensed providers with routine exams, procedures, and patient care activities within assigned scope of practice.
Collect, label, handle, and process specimens according to established protocols and applicable safety requirements.
Support patient flow by communicating care team needs, tracking visit status, and completing assigned follow-up tasks.
Maintain cleanliness, stocking, and readiness of clinical areas, exam rooms, supplies, and equipment.
Follow infection control, safety, privacy, documentation, and patient identification standards in daily work.
QUALIFICATIONS
Current, unrestricted certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) required.
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
Typically requires two or more years of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant. Experience in primary care or urgent care settings is preferred.
Proven proficiency in clinical skills including phlebotomy, medication administration/injections, and electrocardiogram (EKG) performance.
Experience documenting patient encounters and clinical data accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification and evidence of a negative Tuberculosis (TB) test within the last 90 days required.
Demonstrated professional reliability, strong interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume clinical environment.
