Qualifications and Detail about the Position

Job Summary

The Scaffold Construction Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all scaffold construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. This role manages scaffold crews, ensures compliance with OSHA and company safety standards, coordinates with project stakeholders, and maintains quality control throughout all scaffold erection, modification, and dismantling operations.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Plan, organize, and direct scaffold construction projects from initiation through completion.
  • Develop project schedules, manpower plans, and resource requirements.
  • Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as needed to meet deadlines.
  • Coordinate scaffold activities with clients, contractors, engineers, and site management teams.
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and work scopes to ensure compliance.

Safety Leadership

  • Ensure strict adherence to OSHA regulations, local codes, and company safety policies.
  • Conduct jobsite safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and incident investigations.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
  • Verify proper use of PPE and safe work practices by all personnel.

Operations Management

  • Supervise scaffold supervisors, foremen, and crew members.
  • Manage scaffold erection, modification, inspection, and dismantling activities.
  • Ensure all scaffold systems are erected according to engineering drawings and manufacturer specifications.
  • Coordinate equipment, materials, and labor resources.
  • Optimize productivity while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Quality Control

  • Conduct inspections to verify scaffold integrity and compliance.
  • Ensure scaffold documentation, permits, and inspection records are maintained.
  • Address quality issues and implement process improvements.
  • Ensure completed structures meet client and regulatory requirements.

Budget & Resource Management

  • Monitor project costs and labor utilization.
  • Assist with estimating, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Manage inventory of scaffold materials and equipment.
  • Control project expenses while maintaining operational effectiveness.

Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate scaffold personnel.
  • Provide coaching and performance feedback.
  • Foster teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Support workforce development and succession planning.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.

Experience

  • 7+ years of scaffold construction experience.
  • 3+ years of supervisory or management experience in industrial, commercial, or petrochemical environments.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and large crews preferred.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification.
  • Competent Person Scaffolding Certification.
  • Scaffold Erector Certification.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification.
  • NCCER or equivalent construction certifications.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge of scaffold systems, erection methods, and safety regulations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and project specifications.
  • Excellent planning, scheduling, and organizational abilities.
  • Strong communication and client relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.
  • Ability to identify hazards and implement effective risk mitigation strategies.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to climb ladders and access elevated work areas.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as required.

Reports To: Regional Operations Manager / Construction Director
Direct Reports: Scaffold Supervisors, Foremen, Lead Scaffold Builders, and Scaffold Crews

This position plays a critical role in ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient scaffold operations while delivering exceptional service to customers and supporting company growth objectives.
