Job Description
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years litigation experience with a law firm or in-house legal department.
Preferred Qualifications
- 8 years of relevant work experience as a paralegal or legal assistant, including experience with complex electronic discovery, Internet technology and patent litigation, regulatory investigations and general litigation.
- Excellent analytical skills with a strong ability to review and organize numerous documents in complex legal matters.
- Exceptional communication skills and a commitment to professionalism and collegiality.
- Willingness to lean into ambiguity, new challenges, and problem-solving; finding new solutions, leveraging new tools (such as AI) to meet the moment of increasing scale without equally increased headcount.
Responsibilities
- Assist Litigation Counsel in managing document preservation, collection, review and production procedures, including evaluating new technologies and vendors.
- Collaborate with the Litigation and Discovery teams, as well as other groups at Google, to ensure internal systems work well with discovery procedures.
- Supervise document retrieval and document production, coordinating with external legal counsel in litigation matters.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel on specific assignments, review preliminary advice and provide internal recommendations.
- Support special project work, including data analytics and tooling development, leaning into early adoption of AI tooling and process improvement to meet the challenges of scale in a growing docket.
