Modernizing our platform on Microsoft Fabric provides a foundation for self-service analytics, data and operational agents, and workflow automation. Within engineering, we’re integrating AI and large language models into a governed process for building, reviewing, and validating solutions.

You’ll join a dedicated GSMS team, work directly with business users, and take lasting ownership of solutions that shape how the company competes.

The opportunity

You’ll establish and lead quality engineering across ETL pipelines, warehouse data, and Power BI reports.

This is a hands-on leadership role spanning current production operations and our Fabric migration. You’ll build automation, define testing standards, and provide clear evidence of data quality and release readiness.

You’ll manage the incoming Data Quality Engineer and collaborate with existing quality colleagues. The Product Owner will coordinate user acceptance testing, supported by your team’s validation and defect investigation.

What you’ll do

• Define testing standards and priorities across ingestion, transformations, warehouse models, and reports.
• Build maintainable automated checks using SQL, Python, and appropriate testing tools.
• Design migration reconciliation that checks completeness, accuracy, and business-rule consistency.
• Test ETL behavior, including incremental processing, duplicates, missing data, and recovery.
• Validate Power BI measures and report outputs against independently calculated SQL results, matching business rules and filter conditions.
• Integrate checks into pipelines and CI/CD, and establish ongoing quality monitoring.
• Lead defect triage and communicate coverage, unresolved issues, and release-readiness recommendations.
• Support Product Owner-led UAT through preparation, investigation, and retesting.
• Manage and mentor the Data Quality Engineer and collaborate with other quality colleagues.
• Use AI-assisted testing with independent validation of outputs.

What you’ll bring

• Typically 6+ years in data quality engineering, ETL testing, or data engineering, with recent emphasis on automation.
• Experience establishing an automated data testing framework or approach.
• Strong SQL reconciliation and Python test automation skills.
• Experience validating data warehouse or platform migrations.
• Experience testing cloud data pipelines and warehouse transformations.
• Power BI report testing experience, including filters, slicers, totals, and drill-through behavior.
• Experience leading test planning, defect triage, and technical quality work.
• Clear written and spoken English and the ability to explain findings to engineers and business users.

Helpful additional experience

• Microsoft Fabric or PySpark.
• SQL Server and Azure Data Factory.
• Testing tools such as pytest, Great Expectations, or Soda.
• DAX familiarity for investigating report discrepancies; complex DAX development is not required.
• Pharmaceutical, healthcare, or distribution data.

Working arrangement

• This is a dedicated, full-time position, with employment administered through an Employer of Record (EOR) in India.
• Your day-to-day work, team relationships, and priorities will be with GSMS.
• Working hours are 2:00–10:00 PM IST, fixed year-round, providing overlap with US colleagues. Production support takes place within these hours.
• You must be available during scheduled working hours and may not hold another full-time job concurrently. Any outside work must comply with the applicable employment agreement and conflict-of-interest policy.
