Job Summary: At Valley Children’s, pediatric hospitalists join a mission-driven team caring for children across Central California in a nationally recognized, safety-focused children’s hospital. We are seeking a Pediatric Hospitalist to join our established Pediatric Hospital Medicine team at Valley Children's Hospital in Madera, California. Our Pediatric Hospital Medicine division is a collaborative, experienced, and diverse team committed to providing exceptional inpatient care while maintaining a sustainable practice environment. The division continually evaluates scheduling and staffing models based on national trends and physician feedback, with wellness and long-term career satisfaction as priorities. Job Description: The Practice Our pediatric hospitalists provide acute inpatient pediatric care, surgical co-management, and consultation for children with medically complex conditions, as well as Emergency Department consultations. Hospitalists in this role do not provide newborn or neonatal intensive care and do not attend deliveries. The program includes seven day teams, with a combination of teaching and non-teaching services, as well as three night physicians providing staggered overnight coverage. The team includes dedicated nocturnists and hybrid physicians who work day, evening, and night shifts. Some senior team members work primarily day shifts, and flexibility in both the number and type of shifts one works is one reason physicians build long careers at our institution. Physicians also have opportunities to participate in the education of residents and fellows at Valley Children’s Hospital, affiliated with Stanford University School of Medicine. Qualifications:
- MD or DO Degree
- Board certified or eligible in Pediatric Hospital Medicine preferred but not required
- Eligible for medical licensure in the State of California
