Job Description – Head of Department (Performing Arts)
The Head of Department (Performing Arts) will provide academic and administrative leadership to the Performing Arts Department, fostering creativity, excellence, and holistic student development through Music, Dance, Theatre, and related disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Performing Arts Department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Design, implement, and continuously enhance the Performing Arts curriculum in alignment with the school's vision and academic framework.
- Mentor, coach, and evaluate faculty to drive professional growth and teaching excellence.
- Identify and nurture students' artistic talent through performances, competitions, workshops, and enrichment programmes.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee cultural events, annual productions, assemblies, concerts, and inter-school competitions.
- Collaborate with academic and administrative teams to integrate performing arts into the overall student learning experience.
- Manage departmental budgets, schedules, resources, costumes, instruments, and performance spaces.
- Build strong relationships with parents, external artists, and cultural organizations to enhance learning opportunities.
- Ensure effective documentation, reporting, and compliance with school policies and safety standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Master's Degree in Performing Arts (Music, Dance, Theatre, or related discipline); B.Ed. preferred.
- 8–12 years of teaching experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or coordinator role.
- Experience in CBSE or international school environments is desirable.
