Job Title: Lead Mechanical Propulsion Engineer
Location: Barrow-in-Furness
Contract length: 12 months
Days on site: Hybrid
Rate: £43 PAYE or £57.97 Umbrella
Key Responsibilities :
Developing the design of the Submarine Propulsor
Assessing suitable materials
Working with internal and external stakeholders
Assessing manufacturability of components
Working with metallic and composite materials
Working with coating systems
Ensuring compliance with the cradle to grave design cycle
Skills & Qualifications:
General Mechanical Engineering
Working in the design of composite structures
Understanding of machining capability
Working with complex assemblies
Understanding of casting and forging
Component tolerancing strategies
