Transportation Team Lead - Inland Freight (LTL/FTL)

CaroTrans is seeking a motivated and experienced Transportation Team Lead to join our Transportation Management Services (TMS) team in Clark, NJ.
This is an opportunity for a transportation professional who enjoys both day-to-day operations and leadership. The successful candidate will remain actively involved in freight management while helping support team performance, operational efficiency, and customer service excellence.
What You'll Do
Manage daily LTL and FTL quoting, booking, and transportation activities.Coordinate with carriers, customers, warehouses, and CaroTrans offices nationwide.Support team members with training, coaching, and operational guidance.Assist in resolving shipment issues, service failures, and transportation escalations.Help prioritize workloads and ensure timely completion of operational tasks.Promote consistency in processes, procedures, and service execution.Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency and operational performance.Serve as a resource for transportation-related questions and complex shipment requirements.

Required Qualifications
Experience in transportation, logistics, freight forwarding, supply chain, or a related operational environment.Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and initiative.Desire to mentor, support, and lead others while remaining hands-on in daily operations.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with LTL and FTL transportation.Knowledge of freight classification, carrier pricing, accessorial charges, and transportation operations.Experience using transportation management systems (TMS) and freight rating platforms.Previous leadership, training, or team coordination experience.
