Fund Accounting Director | Private Equity | Hybrid NYC - 3 days

This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who has strong private fund accounting experience and wants meaningful ownership over the accounting and reporting process. You’ll work closely with senior finance leadership while overseeing complex fund structures and helping develop the broader fund accounting team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and oversee the quarterly and annual fund accounting process
• Review NAVs, financial statements and investor reporting
• Oversee capital calls, distributions, allocations and waterfalls
• Review management and incentive fee calculations
• Manage accounting across complex fund structures, including SPVs, blockers, parallel vehicles and co-investments
• Coordinate with fund administrators, auditors, tax providers and other third parties
• Review portfolio activity, investment transactions and related accounting
• Lead and develop junior members of the fund accounting team
• Partner with senior leadership on process improvements, controls and special projects

Ideal Background:

• 8+ years of fund accounting experience
• Strong private equity, private credit, real estate or other alternative investment experience
• Experience reviewing NAVs and owning the fund close process
• Strong understanding of capital activity, allocations and waterfalls
• Prior management/review experience
• Public accounting and/or CPA background is a plus
