The top technical seat, not a seat under itDecisions that are still open. Suppliers, parts and firmware for production are being chosen now, so you'd set them rather than inherit them.Feedback from real-world use, not lab testing
What you'd actually doYou'd take the hardware into production with supply chain / manufacturing peers and get it built the same way every time. You'd also build the team that does it, working alongside a software engineering lead.
You won't be starting from a blank sheet. If you enjoy taking something that works and making it buildable at volume, this is for you.
