Maintenance General Foreman Level 2 NASAP, NABSC
The Maintenance General Foreman supervises frontline supervisors and maintenance craft personnel responsible for the installation, repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of plant equipment and facilities. Responsible for coordinating maintenance activities, supporting operational objectives, ensuring safe work execution, assigning work, monitoring performance, and providing technical leadership to maintenance teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversees and manages maintenance supervisors and craft personnel; coordinates maintenance activities and safety compliance within assigned areas.
- Responsible for ensuring that maintenance personnel perform assigned tasks safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures, standards, and operational requirements.
- Assigns work, monitors productivity, and ensures maintenance activities are completed on schedule and within established quality expectations.
- Leads troubleshooting efforts, root cause analysis investigations, and corrective action implementation to prevent recurring equipment failures and improve reliability.
- Ensures that tools, equipment, materials, and resources necessary for maintenance work are available, properly maintained, and utilized effectively.
- Provides technical guidance and support to supervisors and craft employees regarding maintenance practices, equipment repairs, and system reliability.
- Monitors work quality and ensures maintenance activities meet safety, environmental, regulatory, and operational standards.
- Coaches and mentors supervisors and employees, establishes performance expectations, provides feedback, and supports workforce development initiatives.
- Coordinates with Operations, Engineering, Planning, and other departments to support outages, shutdowns, routine maintenance, and special projects.
- Identifies and recommends process improvements that increase productivity, efficiency, equipment reliability, and overall operational performance.
- Resolves operational, technical, customer, and employee issues that may impact maintenance performance or production objectives.
- Organizes and conducts safety meetings, pre-job briefings, daily coordination meetings, and other workforce communications.
- Maintains accurate maintenance records, reports, work documentation, and performance metrics.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and communicate effectively with employees, contractors, and management personnel.
- The employee must be able to climb and maintain balance on stairs, ladders, platforms, and scaffolding.
- The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, bend, reach, squat, kneel, and work in industrial environments for extended periods.
- The employee must frequently use hands and arms to handle, inspect, operate, and manipulate tools, equipment, and controls.
- The employee may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and assist with heavier materials as needed.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical equipment, vibration, airborne particles, dust, fumes, chemicals, and industrial noise.
- Must be able to work near operating equipment, energized systems, rotating machinery, and other industrial hazards while following all applicable safety requirements.
- Must be able to work at elevated heights and in confined spaces when required.
- Must be able to work in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, humidity, and other adverse environmental conditions.
- The noise level in the work environment is often moderate to loud and may require the use of hearing protection.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant industrial maintenance experience.
- Must have TWIC
- Preferred 5+ years of experience as a Maintenance Foreman.
- Demonstrated ability to perform General Foreman or Maintenance Coordinator responsibilities during outages, shutdowns, or major maintenance activities.
- Proven ability to build, lead, coach, and develop high-performing maintenance teams.
- Experience supervising multi-craft maintenance personnel and coordinating maintenance resources.
- Strong troubleshooting, equipment reliability, and root cause analysis experience.
- Knowledge of maintenance planning, scheduling, and work management processes.
- Strong safety leadership experience and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Must be able to work in industrial environments and respond to operational needs, including outages, shutdowns, and emergency maintenance situations as required.

Experience: Minimum of 3 experience.
