We would welcome applications for consideration of a Salaried GP or GP Partner position. We serve approximately 11,000 patients across two sites in the Scottish Borders: Galashiels and Hawick. We also provide in‑hours cover for the Hawick Community Hospital and are supported by an experienced team of ANPs, practice nurses and a dedicated administrative and management team. Our Practice is welcoming and supportive, emphasising a healthy work‑life balance. Daily meetings provide opportunities for debriefs, case discussions, reflections and continued professional development. We also offer regular social events. We are an established GP team of seven Partners, one Salaried GP and one long‑term locum. Candidates are expected to work across both sites, though we offer flexibility in role and work pattern. The position is available immediately. Job specifics An average of 12 x 15‑minute appointments per session One “Duty Day” per week Support of extensive and developed nursing team – ANPs, Minor Ailments Nurse, Specialist Respiratory Nurse, Practice Nurses, HCAs Wider health care team of on‑site physiotherapist and pharmacist as well as local dedicated primary care mental health team (RENEW) Supported Duty Team working (ANP and GP), with twice daily clinical/educational huddles EMIS and DocMan based systems, due to change to Vision later this year What we offer In‑house CPD programme and regular opportunities for training and development Medical Student Teaching practice with strong links with the University of Edinburgh, opportunities to develop teaching/training role if desired FY2 training from August 2026 Skilled Practice Manager with developed administrative team carrying out workflow optimisation and signposting Specialist services including Minor Surgery and Coil clinics as well as full LES involvement What we are looking for Fully‑qualified GP with GMC registration and licence to practice Inclusion on the NHS GP Performers List Excellent communication and team‑working skills Innovation and enthusiasm to keep Mairches Medical Practice at the forefront of General Practice We encourage candidates from all backgrounds with fresh ideas to apply. #J-18808-Ljbffr
