New product development engineer

# Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically strong NPD Engineer to support new product design and development activities within an automotive parts manufacturing environment.

The role requires strong understanding of new product development methodology, understanding customer and industry specifications and work with product teams for new product development execution.

The ideal candidate should have prior experience in automotive manufacturing, or new product development processes in manufacturing

# Key Responsibilities

End to end development of Leaf Spring, Chassis Components and Fabricated parts Support New Product Development Activities including Design Validation, Prototyping, Testing and PPAP activities Use CAD and CAE tools for part development and drawings Define Tooling requirements and Production route / processes Co-ordinate and manage the projects with Customer teams Achieve new product introductions within time and budget commitments.

# Skills & Competencies Required

Strong understanding of New Product Development and Quality processes. Experience with using CAD and CAE software tools Tooling development and process routing/development Know how of tooling of fabricated components and press parts Knowledge of FEA and MBD simulations preferred

# Educational Qualification

- M. E. or B. E. in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering with strong academic track record

# Preferred Experience

3-5 years of experience in NPD, Process Engineering or Quality Engineering within automotive/manufacturing industry Experience in design / development of leaf springs or steel fabricated parts
