Senior Design Engineer

Role Description To design and develop innovative, hygienic, and efficient machinery solutions using SolidWorks for pharma, food & beverage, and cosmetic industries, ensuring compliance with industry standards (such as GMP), optimizing manufacturability, and supporting high-quality, cost-effective production through continuous design improvement. Functional Competencies Develop 3D models and detailed 2D drawings using SolidWorks for machine components, assemblies, and layouts. Design equipment considering GMP, hygienic design standards, and industry-specific compliance (pharma, food, cosmetics). Prepare and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) and ensure accurate documentation in ERP systems. Create machine layouts, GA drawings, and assembly drawings for manufacturing and client approvals. Select appropriate materials (SS 202/304/316, food-grade components) based on application and industry standards. Coordinate with production, quality, and purchase teams to ensure design feasibility and cost optimization. Support new product development (NPD) and customization as per client requirements. Review and implement engineering change requests (ECR/ECN) and design modifications. Provide technical support during manufacturing, assembly, and trials to resolve design-related issues. Ensure designs are optimized for ease of manufacturing, installation, and maintenance. Work with vendors for technical discussions, drawing clarifications, and component development. Maintain proper drawing control, revision management, and documentation standards. Conduct basic design calculations, tolerance analysis, and fitment checks. Ensure adherence to safety standards and risk assessment in design. Continuously improve designs for cost reduction, efficiency, and performance enhancement. Qualifications 8-10 years in machine design using SolidWorks Strong foundation in Design Engineering and Product Design for industrial applications. Proficiency in Mechanical Engineering concepts and tools relevant to equipment and system design. Working knowledge of Electrical Engineering principles for integrated electro-mechanical systems. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline. Proven experience in a senior or lead design role within industrial, process, or manufacturing environments. Ability to interpret and apply industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and quality. Effective communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to guide and mentor team members. Willingness to work on-site in Karjan and occasionally visit client locations or manufacturing facilities as needed.
