About the OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead site-level environmental, health, and safety programs at an industrial facility. This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, managing environmental permits and reporting, and promoting a strong safety culture across site operations.The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with environmental compliance, permitting, and reporting in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Experience in chemical, petrochemical, refining, or heavy industrial operations is highly preferred.
Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.Manage environmental programs related to air emissions, wastewater, and hazardous and non-hazardous waste.Oversee environmental permits, renewals, regulatory reporting, and recordkeeping.Serve as the primary site contact for regulatory agencies, including OSHA, EPA, and local authorities.Coordinate regulatory inspections, audits, and agency visits, and manage corrective actions.Conduct EHS audits, inspections, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.Maintain and improve site EHS management systems and ensure alignment with corporate standards.Support Management of Change (MOC) processes and Process Safety Management (PSM) activities.Lead or support incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective and preventive actions.Maintain OSHA logs, environmental reports, and other required EHS documentation.Support emergency preparedness, response planning, and emergency drills.Monitor EHS performance metrics and work with site leadership to improve safety performance.Collaborate with HR and Operations on workers' compensation, return-to-work programs, and employee health initiatives.Stay current with regulatory changes and implement appropriate compliance measures.
QualificationsBachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of EHS experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.Demonstrated knowledge of state-specific environmental regulations, permitting, and compliance.Hands-on experience with air, water, and waste management programs.Experience with Title V air permits, LPDES/NPDES permits, wastewater reporting, and RCRA waste management.Experience in chemical, petrochemical, refining, or heavy industrial environments preferred.Process Safety Management (PSM) experience preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar productivity applications; Google Workspace experience preferred.Familiarity with Intelex or other EHS management software is a plus.Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) required.Valid driver's license required.CHMM, CSP, or similar professional certification preferred.First Aid, CPR, and AED certification preferred.
Work EnvironmentAbility to work in hot and cold temperatures and varying weather conditions.Ability to work around hazardous materials, including sulfuric acid and molten sulfur.Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including flame-resistant clothing, respirators, and fall protection equipment.Ability to climb ladders and scaffolds, work at heights, enter confined spaces, and perform physical tasks as required.Ability to respond to emergency call-outs when necessary.
Work ScheduleMonday–Friday, approximately 40 hours per week. xzbcwsv Occasional travel to other locations may be required.
