Role: Project Manager
Location: Chennai and Hyderabad
Experience : 5 to 9 Years
We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Project Manager to lead end-to-end ERP implementation projects across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in ERP transformation, a strong command of project management tools and methodologies, and exceptional leadership skills to drive successful delivery of large-scale, complex initiatives.
This role demands a hands-on leader who can effectively manage stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and vendors, while ensuring timely execution, quality outcomes, and strong client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning & Execution
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations using leading project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Asana, Smartsheet, etc.)
- Define clear project scope, objectives, and deliverables aligned with business goals.
- Monitor project progress, track KPIs, and ensure on-time, within-scope, and within-budget delivery.
2. ERP Implementation Leadership
- Lead end-to-end ERP implementations, from project initiation and requirements gathering to go-live and post-deployment stabilization.
- Drive continuous system improvement and optimization in collaboration with business and IT teams.
- Ensure adherence to ERP best practices and implementation frameworks.
3. Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, managing expectations, communications, and relationships throughout the project lifecycle with professionalism, empathy, and maturity.
- Present project updates, milestones, risks, and outcomes to executive stakeholders in a timely and transparent manner.
- Partner with business leaders to ensure the solution meets strategic and operational needs while proactively identifying and escalating any potential risks or challenges that could impact delivery.
4. Cross-Functional Team Leadership
- Lead and coordinate internal teams, third-party vendors, consultants, and business stakeholders.
- Foster collaboration, accountability, and a culture of trust across technical, functional, and business workstreams.
- Provide strong, empathetic leadership, mentorship, and motivation to cross-functional teams, understanding team dynamics and supporting individuals through challenges while maintaining focus on project objectives.
- Guide teams through ambiguity, conflicts, and changing priorities with maturity and sound judgment, ensuring deliverables are achieved within agreed timelines and quality standards.
5. Change, Risk & Issue Management
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, dependencies, and issues proactively, while demonstrating the judgment to recognize early warning signs before they escalate.
- Escalate critical project, people, or delivery concerns in a timely and transparent manner, working collaboratively with stakeholders to drive effective resolutions.
- Develop and execute risk mitigation and contingency plans.
- Support change management and training initiatives to facilitate user adoption and ensure teams are well-supported throughout the transformation journey.
6. Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure ERP solutions meet defined business, functional, and technical requirements.
- Oversee quality assurance processes, testing strategies, validation, and compliance audits.
- Maintain documentation and governance standards throughout the project lifecycle.
7. Vendor & Partner Management
- Evaluate, select, and manage vendors and implementation partners to ensure performance alignment with project goals while fostering collaborative, long-term working relationships.
- Manage vendor contracts, deliverables, and escalation procedures effectively, addressing challenges with professionalism, diplomacy, and a solution-oriented approach.
8. Budget & Cost Management
- Develop and manage ERP project budgets, ensuring efficient utilization of resources.
- Track and report on project financials, variances, and ROI.
Requirements:
- 5-9 years of hands-on experience in managing end-to-end ERP implementation projects.
- Proven success in leading large-scale ERP deployments across multiple business units or geographies.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid, etc.).
- Strong understanding of ERP systems.
- Excellent client-facing, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the maturity to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, vendors, and partners in complex project environments through a collaborative, empathetic, and people-first leadership approach.
- Ability to proactively identify, communicate, and escalate project, delivery, or people-related risks before they impact outcomes, while effectively guiding teams towards successful resolution.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, with the composure and resilience to navigate complex and high-pressure situations.
- A mature leadership style with the ability to coach, mentor, and motivate teams, fostering accountability, collaboration, and high performance while ensuring successful project delivery.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or ERP system certifications (e.g., SAP Certified) are a plus.
