About the Role

Himalyan Acoustics is looking for an Architect – Acoustics & Project Consultancy to establish and manage our architectural consultancy presence in Bengaluru.

This is a technical, design and client-facing role , combining architectural understanding with acoustic consultancy, project coordination, drawings and BOQ preparation.

The candidate will work closely with architects, interior designers, consultants, contractors and project owners , understand their project requirements and provide suitable acoustic and soundproofing solutions using products manufactured by Himalyan Acoustics as an OEM.

Key Responsibilities

1. Architect & Client Coordination

• Develop and maintain professional relationships with architects, interior designers, consultants and contractors.
• Visit architectural firms and project sites to understand upcoming and ongoing projects.
• Attend client/architect meetings and understand project requirements.
• Present acoustic solutions and technical recommendations in a clear and professional manner.
• Act as the local technical point of contact for Himalyan Acoustics in Bengaluru.

2. Acoustic Consultancy

• Understand acoustic requirements for residential, commercial, hospitality, institutional, industrial and other projects.
• Recommend appropriate soundproofing and acoustic treatment solutions based on project requirements.
• Understand room acoustics, sound transmission, reverberation, noise control and basic acoustic principles.
• Integrate acoustic solutions with architectural and interior design requirements.
• Suggest suitable materials, systems, assemblies and installation methods.

3. Drawings & Technical Documentation

• Read and interpret architectural, interior, structural and MEP drawings.
• Prepare and/or coordinate acoustic layouts, sections, details and installation drawings .
• Prepare technical details for acoustic walls, ceilings, floors, doors, windows, partitions and other acoustic applications.
• Coordinate acoustic requirements with architectural and MEP drawings.
• Review drawings and identify clashes or execution-related issues.
• Prepare revisions based on site conditions and project requirements.
• Support preparation of GFC / working drawings and technical documentation wherever required.

4. BOQ & Estimation

• Prepare project-wise BOQs for acoustic and soundproofing works .
• Take quantities from architectural/interior drawings and site measurements.
• Calculate areas, running measurements, quantities and material requirements accurately.
• Prepare material specifications and item-wise quantity requirements.
• Coordinate with the internal estimation/technical team for pricing and final proposals.
• Understand project scope, specifications and quantities before submission.

5. Site & Project Coordination

• Conduct regular project/site visits.
• Take measurements and assess existing site conditions.
• Coordinate with contractors, site engineers, architects and other consultants.
• Ensure recommended acoustic solutions are practically executable.
• Provide technical clarification during execution.
• Review installation quality and identify deviations from approved drawings/specifications.
• Coordinate with the factory/OEM and internal technical team for project-specific requirements.

6. Design & Product Integration

• Work with architects and designers to integrate Himalyan Acoustics products into their designs.
• Understand product applications, technical specifications and installation requirements.
• Suggest alternative systems/materials where required based on performance, aesthetics or budget.
• Help architects specify Himalyan Acoustics products in project documentation and BOQs.

7. Business Development Through Consultancy

• Identify projects where acoustic consultancy can be introduced at the design stage.
• Build a pipeline through relationships with architectural and design firms.
• Track projects from initial discussion to specification, BOQ, order and execution.
• Generate opportunities through technical expertise and project relationships rather than conventional product selling .
• Maintain project and client records and provide regular updates to management.

Required Skills

• Strong architectural understanding and knowledge of construction practices.
• Strong command of AutoCAD is mandatory.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, interior, structural and MEP drawings.
• Experience preparing working drawings, detailed drawings and BOQs .
• Good understanding of materials, construction detailing and site execution.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel for quantity calculations and BOQ preparation.
• Knowledge of SketchUp/Revit/other design software will be an advantage.
• Strong communication, presentation and client-handling skills.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to architects and clients.
• Willingness to travel for client meetings and site visits across Bengaluru.
• Ability to independently manage projects and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
