Commercial Claims Adjuster
Location: Westshore District, Tampa, FL | In Office

The Commercial Claims Adjuster is responsible for investigating, evaluating, reserving, negotiating, and resolving assigned commercial claims in accordance with company Best Practices while delivering exceptional customer service and effective indemnity and expense management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage commercial claims from first notice through resolution, including timely contact, investigation, coverage analysis, evaluation, reserving, negotiation, and disposition.
- Conduct thorough investigations involving insureds, claimants, attorneys, witnesses, law enforcement, medical providers, agents, and technical experts.
- Evaluate liability, damages, coverage, subrogation, and contribution potential and establish appropriate reserves.
- Negotiate fair, timely, and cost-effective claim settlements within assigned authority.
- Maintain accurate, well-documented claim files and effective diary management.
- Coordinate with specialized resources, including Subrogation, Fire, Fraud, and outside experts, as needed.
- Attend depositions, mediations, and other legal proceedings as required.
- Deliver a high level of customer service while maintaining compliance with company policies, regulations, and Claim Department Best Practices.
- Support catastrophe operations and workload surges, including overtime when designated CAT events occur.
- Participate in special projects and occasional overnight travel as needed.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
- Florida 6-20/6-20? adjuster license (620) required.
- 1–3 years of commercial claims experience preferred; P&C experience required.
- Xactware experience preferred.
- Strong investigation, analytical, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and internet research tools.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external partners.
