About the RoleThis position focuses on general civil litigation, handling matters in state and federal courts from initial evaluation through resolution. The Senior General Litigation Associate will work on a diverse litigation docket and maintain direct responsibility for strategy, client communication, and case outcomes. This role requires an attorney who is comfortable operating independently, while collaborating with colleagues across the firm as needed.
What You’ll DoManage general civil litigation matters from inception through resolutionDraft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal memorandaConduct depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials Develop case strategy and provide practical legal guidance to clientsHandle multiple matters simultaneously in state and federal courtsCommunicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts
What We’re Looking ForJuris Doctor (JD) from a nationally recognized, ABA-accredited law schoolActive bar admission in Alabama (Tennessee Bar admission a plus)5+ years of general civil litigation experienceExperience in taking and defending depositions Trial, motion hearing, or significant courtroom experienceStrong legal writing, research, and advocacy skillsAbility to manage cases independently and exercise sound judgmentDemonstrated ability to manage a litigation practice independently, including client relationships and day-to-day case management
