We’re looking for an experienced Embedded Systems Engineer to own the critical first stage of hardware bring-up — from bootloader configuration and first power-on to board validation and a stable, bootable system.

This is a highly hands-on role for an engineer who enjoys working close to the hardware, troubleshooting complex low-level issues, and turning new board revisions into reliable platforms ready for development.

Location: Dominican Republic or India

Employment Type: Full-time

Reports to: Embedded Linux / OpenWRT Engineer (Lead)

What You’ll Own

* Port, configure, and maintain U-Boot across board revisions.

* Lead board bring-up from first power-on to a stable, bootable state.

* Validate power sequencing, clocks, memory, and peripheral buses.

* Diagnose boot failures and hardware faults using JTAG, serial console, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.

* Build hardware validation plans in collaboration with QA/Test.

* Help maintain the hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) lab and test environment.

* Identify hardware design issues early and collaborate with hardware/EE teams and manufacturing partners.

What We’re Looking For

Must Have

✓ 5+ years of embedded systems experience

✓ Hands-on experience with U-Boot or comparable bootloaders

✓ Proven board bring-up experience — from first power-on to stable boot

✓ Experience with JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters

✓ Working knowledge of C

✓ Experience with SPI, I2C, UART and GPIO

⭐ Nice to Have

⭐ Telecom or IoT device board bring-up experience

⭐ OpenWRT / Embedded Linux boot-flow experience

⭐ Hardware design review or design-for-manufacturing (DFM) exposure
