Title: Property Accountant

Interview Process: 1st Round Virtual, 1-2 Rounds In Person

Must Haves

• 3+ years of commercial real estate accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of commercial leases, including rent structures, tenant billings, CAM reconciliations, and lease-related charges.
• Experience managing full property accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, budgeting, cash flow reconciliation, and financial reporting.
• Project accounting experience, ideally supporting capital improvement or renovation projects.
• Ability to work independently and partner closely with Property Managers on a dedicated asset.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (flex but would have to be an all star)

Plusses

• Experience processing invoices through Yardi, MRI, and/or Nexus.
• Construction project accounting experience.
• Experience supporting large commercial properties undergoing renovations or mixed-use development projects.

Day-to-Day: This Property Accountant will support a large commercial asset that is currently undergoing a major remodel and residential expansion. They will maintain the property's financials, oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, track operating and project-related expenses, and help ensure budgets remain on target. The role will work closely with the Property Manager to monitor cash flow, manage vendor payments, track change orders, and prepare monthly financial reports. They will process invoices through Nexus and Yardi, reconcile cash activity, and ensure tenants are billed accurately according to lease terms. This person will serve as a dedicated financial partner to the on-site property management team and support any accounting-related needs for the property.
