Title: CNC Machinist Location: Glenview, IL Hire Type: Direct Hire Shift : 7:00 - 330 pm Monday - Friday Compensation: $28-35/hr Bonus/ Incentives/ Stock Options: Benefits:Full benefit package Must have Skill Set: Experience with CNC Lathes and Mills Overview: A growing precision manufacturing company is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join its team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working on a diverse mix of low-volume, custom-machined components and is comfortable managing projects from programming through final production. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with strong problem-solving skills who takes pride in producing high-quality parts while working in a collaborative manufacturing environment. Job Duties: Set up, program, and operate CNC milling and turning equipment to manufacture precision components.Develop and modify machine programs using conversational programming, G-code, and CAM software.Operate conventional machining equipment as needed to support production.Utilize common fabrication equipment including drill presses, saws, grinders, and other shop machinery.Select tooling and determine appropriate machining parameters, including speeds, feeds, cutting depths, and coolant requirements.Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to produce parts that meet design requirements.Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other inspection equipment.Hold close machining tolerances while maintaining quality and consistency.Partner with engineering and production teams to support prototype development and continuous process improvements.Perform routine equipment maintenance and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training is preferred.Minimum of five years of CNC machining experience.Experience machining a variety of materials, including aluminum, stainless steel, engineering plastics, and similar materials.Proficiency with conversational programming and working knowledge of G-code.Ability to create, edit, and troubleshoot CNC programs at the machine control.Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.Ability to read blueprints and follow written work instructions.Good shop mathematics and understanding of machining principles.
