Who You Are:You are a creative, collaborative, and detail-oriented designer with a strong sense of fashion and a clear understanding of the brand. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, communicate effectively, and take a solutions-oriented approach to challenges. You bring a strong design perspective and the ability to translate creative ideas into compelling, brand-right product.
What You’ll Do:Understand the Michael Kors aesthetic and translate it into seasonal productsSupport and collaborate with the Senior Designer on the entire product design process within Cut & Sew Knits and Sweaters categoriesConduct trend, market, and competitive research on a seasonal basisSupport Senior Designer in seasonal knit mock-ups and sweater knit down developmentCreate sketches in Adobe Illustrator, including sketch updates as needed throughout product lifecycleAssist in creation of tech packs (BOMs, construction details, measurement chart) in PLM systemUpdate tech packs in the PLM system after seasonal touch point meetingsAttend weekly fittings; taking notes or updating sketches/tech packs where neededCommunicate and collaborate with internal cross-functional teams (Sales/Merchandising, Production, and Technical Design)Communicate regularly and clearly to our overseas agents and global cross-functional partners regarding tech pack details and style updates
You’ll Need to Have:Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design~1 year of related experience, full-time/freelance strongly preferredUnderstanding of garment constructionProficient in Adobe Illustrator and PhotoshopExperience with flats/technical drawings and CADsAbility to work in our NYC office 3 days a week (hybrid schedule)PLM & Figma experience is a plusLab dip/strike off approval process experience is a plus
