Position OverviewNuWest is seeking an experienced Family Nurse Practitioner for an outpatient primary care opportunity in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The FNP will provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to patients across the lifespan, from pediatrics through geriatrics, with an emphasis on diagnosis, treatment, chronic disease management, and preventive care.
Key ResponsibilitiesConduct patient assessments, obtain medical histories, and perform physical examinations across all age groupsDiagnose and treat acute illnesses and injuries, and manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and asthmaDevelop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plansOrder and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications, including controlled substances, per scope of practiceProvide preventive care, including wellness exams, screenings, and immunizationsEducate patients and families on disease management, healthy lifestyle choices, and treatment plansCollaborate xzbcwsv with physicians, specialists, and care team members, and refer patients as neededMaintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR in compliance with regulatory standardsRequired QualificationsActive Colorado Nurse Practitioner (FNP) licenseMinimum 2 years of experience as a Family Nurse PractitionerCurrent BLS certificationActive DEA registrationMust be able to pass required background checks and drug screening
