Job Designation: Level 3 SOC Analyst

Roles & Responsibilities

Advanced Incident Response & Threat Management

• Complex incident triage : Lead deep-dive investigations into escalated alerts, advanced persistent threats (APTs), and zero-day exploits.
• Threat hunting : Proactively identify Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) and Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) across enterprise environments.
• Forensic analysis : Conduct root cause analysis using logs, packet captures, and endpoint telemetry.
• Security architecture oversight : Validate and optimize configurations of firewalls, IDS/IPS, WAF, SIEM, and endpoint detection tools.

Team Leadership & Mentorship

• L2/L1 guidance : Provide technical mentorship, on-the-job training, and performance feedback to SOC L1/L2 analysts.
• Shift leadership : Manage SOC operations during assigned shifts, ensuring SLA adherence and incident closure.
• Knowledge transfer : Develop playbooks, SOPs, and training modules to strengthen SOC maturity.
• Escalation management : Act as the escalation point for unresolved or high-severity incidents.

Client Engagement & Reporting

• Client communication : Serve as the primary technical contact for clients during major incidents, providing clear, actionable updates.
• Executive reporting : Deliver incident summaries, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies tailored for C-suite stakeholders.
• Compliance alignment : Ensure incident handling aligns with regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
• Security advisory : Recommend proactive measures, vulnerability remediation, and long-term risk reduction strategies.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

• Threat intelligence integration : Collaborate with L3 peers and global SOC teams to incorporate threat feeds and campaign intelligence.
• Automation initiatives : Drive adoption of SOAR (Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response) tools to reduce manual effort.
• Metrics-driven performance : Track SOC KPIs (MTTR, false positive rate, SLA adherence) and implement improvements.
• Strategic projects : Lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance detection capabilities and incident response maturity.

• Strong leadership skills with proven ability to mentor SOC teams and manage escalations.
• Excellent communication skills for client interactions and executive reporting .
• Hands-on expertise with SIEM, SOAR, IDS/IPS, WAF, endpoint security, and threat intelligence platforms .
• Ability to balance technical depth with business-oriented risk communication .
