About the Role Enlightenment Education is seeking caring, enthusiastic and reliable Teaching Assistants for a range of long-term opportunities within primary schools, SEND hubs and specialist provisions across Derby and the surrounding areas.
We understand that many candidates are looking for more than occasional supply work. Our focus is on connecting you with consistent, longer-term placements where you can build relationships with pupils, become part of a school team and make a meaningful difference to children's education and development.
Many opportunities are initially offered on a temporary basis, with the potential for temporary-to-permanent employment , depending on the school and the individual vacancy.
We are particularly interested in candidates seeking full-time, long-term work, although part-time opportunities will also be considered where available.
What Will the Role Involve? Depending on the setting and the needs of the pupils, responsibilities may include:
Providing one-to-one support for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Supporting pupils within specialist SEND hubs and provisions.

Working with children with autism, ADHD, social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), and behavioural difficulties.

Supporting non-verbal pupils with communication, engagement and daily routines.

Assisting with classroom activities, learning and personal development.

Promoting positive behaviour, independence, inclusion and emotional wellbeing.

Working collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to provide a safe, supportive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate We would love to hear from candidates who are patient, adaptable and passionate about helping children reach their potential.
Previous experience within a school, SEND setting, childcare, care work or behaviour support is desirable. Candidates with transferable skills and a genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs are also encouraged to apply.
You should be reliable, committed to your placement and confident working as part of a team.
Working Hours and Flexibility Most vacancies operate during the school day, typically 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday .
These opportunities may suit candidates with family commitments who are looking for work during school hours. However, working days and hours will depend on the specific vacancy, and part-time positions will be subject to availability.
