A privately held consumer products group with a portfolio of growing brands is hiring a Senior Accountant. The brands sell both direct-to-consumer and wholesale. This is a hands-on role reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager. It fits someone with manufacturing and cost accounting experience who likes improving processes.
ResponsibilitiesRecord, verify, and post journal entries for assets, liabilities, revenue, and expensesReconcile subsidiary and balance sheet accounts, and resolve discrepanciesMaintain the general ledger, prepare the trial balance, and support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closePrepare balance sheets, P&Ls, and other financial reportsSupport inventory accounting and standard costing, and analyze manufacturing variancesManage the payroll processPrepare audit schedules and work directly with the outside auditorsTrack fixed assets and record depreciationAssist with budgeting, forecasting, and margin analysis for the eCommerce and wholesale channelsWork with operations to improve inventory accuracy and cost-of-goods reportingTrain and help manage staff accountants as the team grows
Requirements xzbcwsv Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field (master’s in accounting or MBA preferred)CPA strongly preferred5+ years of experience in accounting or financeStrong knowledge of GAAP and strong technical accounting skillsManufacturing, inventory, and cost accounting experience preferredMicrosoft Dynamics or NetSuite experience a plus
