Job Description

Designs and analyzes steel and concrete structural systems for industrial facilities in accordance with applicable building codes and project requirements. Job Requirements Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering

Active Professional Engineer or Professional Engineer of Canada license

Minimum of 4 years of structural engineering experience

Experience applying IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC requirements

Experience performing structural analysis and design for steel and concrete systems

Knowledge of wind and seismic lateral analysis and design

Experience using structural engineering analysis software

Experience with Navisworks and Bluebeam

Experience preparing and reviewing structural calculations

Experience checking structural designs and calculations completed by other engineers

Experience managing assigned structural scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements

Preferred Skills Master's degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering

Master's degree in structural engineering

Experience supporting semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, or general industrial facilities

Experience leading small structural engineering teams

Experience providing technical direction to designers and drafters

Experience mentoring junior structural engineers

Experience with multidisciplinary industrial facility design

Experience improving structural engineering workflows, systems, and design tools

Familiarity with emerging structural design and coordination technologies

Job Responsibilities Plan and execute structural engineering work using applicable engineering techniques, procedures, and design criteria

Design and analyze traditional steel and reinforced concrete structures

Perform wind and seismic lateral analysis

Apply IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, and related code requirements

Develop structural calculations, design criteria, drawings, and technical documentation

Review structural models, plans, details, and specifications

Check calculations and engineering work prepared by other engineers

Coordinate structural designs using Navisworks and Bluebeam

Define assigned structural scope and estimate required engineering effort

Manage structural deliverables against project schedule, budget, and quality requirements

Identify scope changes and escalate impacts to structural leadership

Resolve technical issues and obtain guidance for complex or undefined design conditions

Coordinate structural requirements with architectural, mechanical, electrical, process, and construction teams

Provide technical guidance to designers, drafters, and less experienced engineers

Review work for accuracy, code compliance, constructability, and design quality

Support structural engineering activities for industrial and semiconductor facilities

Improve structural design workflows, engineering systems, and technical tools

Evaluate and implement applicable emerging design technologies
