A well-established and growing organization in Alaska is seeking a motivated Accounting Manager to join its on-site team in Fairbanks. This is a hands-on role for an accounting professional who wants broader responsibility, direct exposure to business and project leadership, and the opportunity to see how strong financial management influences projects from planning through completion.In this role, you will be more than just a number cruncher. The Accounting Manager will also partner with operational leaders to improve financial visibility, maintain accurate project information, and support sound business decisions. Key ResponsibilitiesManage accounting activity across the general ledger, job costs, accounts receivable, cash accounts, and fixed assetsTake ownership of monthly close activities and produce recurring financial reports, cash flow information, and business performance metricsPrepare and maintain work in progress schedules while supporting accurate revenue recognition across active projectsPartner with project leaders on budgets, cost performance, financial changes, and issues that may affect project resultsPrepare recurring customer billings and ensure invoices are accurate, timely, and appropriately supportedSupport cash forecasting and financial analysis to give leadership greater visibility into company and project performanceCoordinate accounting support for audits, bonding requirements, and other financial compliance activitiesMaintain strong financial controls and accurate records across project-driven accounting processesServe as a financial resource to project and operational teams, helping translate accounting information into useful business insightContribute to additional accounting and operational priorities as business and project needs evolve
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required5+ years of accounting experienceStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracyProficiency with Excel and comfort working with financial dataHighly organized with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesMaintains an optimistic mindset and shows strong openness to developmentExposure to project-based or construction-related accounting environmentsFamiliarity with payroll or accounts payable processesExperience using accounting software such as Sage or similar systems
