The Dental Equipment Repair Technician maintains all School of Dentistry clinical and pre-clinical simulation equipment. This includes troubleshooting as well overseeing a preventive maintenance program for the entire clinical operation. Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provide repair, installation, maintenance and instruction related to all dental equipment and diagnostic devices located in the School of Dentistry and satellite clinics. 2. Instruct faculty, staff and students on the care and use of dental equipment. 3. Perform preventive maintenance service on all dental equipment. 4. Maintain service repair request records and related paperwork. 5. Maintain inventory of equipment, tools, parts, and supplies and process orders as needed. 6. Attend seminars on new technology and equipment. 7. Requires weekend work 2-3 times per year on a scheduled basis for student board examinations. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
High school diploma or GED Five+ years related experience Strong communication, organizational, problem solving, and customer service skills. Working knowledge of the following: electrical; plumbing; hydraulic/pneumatic; electro-mechanical; vacuum pump/air compressors; and x-ray systems. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and prior experience working with dental equipment desirable. Must be able to: lift 70 lbs, walk and stand for extended periods of time.
