Role Overview

Our client is an established manufacturing company in the agri-inputs sector, with a strong presence across fertilisers and crop protection products. The organisation operates a network of manufacturing facilities and serves customers through an extensive distribution footprint. It is part of a diversified business group with a long-standing track record in Indian industry.

The Operations Head is responsible for driving overall manufacturing performance by delivering production targets across productivity, cost, quality, delivery, safety, and people engagement. The role ensures alignment of plant operations with business objectives, adherence to budgets, and responsiveness to market requirements, while fostering continuous improvement through capability building and TQM practices.

Key Responsibilities

1. Budget Planning & Operational Accountability

• Lead annual budgeting and ensure alignment with business objectives and financial targets.
• Own end-to-end delivery of plant performance across productivity, quality, cost, delivery, safety, and morale (PQCDSM).

2. Strategic Support & Business Alignment

• Partner with top management to provide insights and enable data-driven decision-making.
• Drive achievement of stretch targets through innovative approaches and structured improvement initiatives.

3. Training & Talent Development

• Build workforce capability through structured onboarding, training, and continuous skill development initiatives.
• Create platforms to nurture talent and enhance overall team effectiveness and productivity.

4. Continuous Improvement & TQM

• Drive a culture of continuous improvement by promoting active employee participation in TQM and Lean initiatives.
• Identify, prioritise, and implement improvement projects to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

5. Business Improvement Initiatives

• Lead improvement and development initiatives to meet evolving business and market requirements.
• Ensure operational readiness and capability enhancement to support new business opportunities and growth.

Qualifications & Experience

• B.Tech / M.Tech - Chemical Engineering
• 17-20+ years of experience in process/manufacturing industries (preferably fertiliser/chemical sector)
• Proven leadership experience in managing large-scale plant operations
