Construction Superintendent - Commercial GC

Our client, DAVIS Construction, is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead on‑site field operations for large commercial projects across the DMV. This full‑time, on‑site role is ideal for a construction leader with project experience in Healthcare, High-End Interiors, Residential/Multi‑Family, and Base Building commercial sectors. You’ll oversee day‑to‑day construction activities, manage subcontractors and field staff, drive schedule and quality, and partner closely with the Project Manager to ensure successful project delivery. This position is highly visible, client‑facing, and central to DAVIS’ commitment to safety, quality, and building strong relationships.
LocationOn-site, Rockville, MD (HQ-based with regional project assignments) / Hybrid schedule following the first 3-6 monthsFrequent jobsite presence required
What You’ll DoLead daily site operations, safety enforcement, subcontractor oversight, and field coordinationManage site logistics, sequencing, and execution to meet project schedulesPartner with the Project Manager to develop and maintain the CPM scheduleReview submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and ensure installation aligns with contract documentsSupervise, mentor, and support field teams—including foremen and project superintendentsConduct and document daily reports, safety audits, quality checks, and progress trackingCoordinate inspections, punch list completion, and full project closeoutBuild strong relationships with clients, design teams, subcontractors, and internal teamsParticipate in pursuit efforts, preconstruction planning, and proposal development
What You BringMinimum 4+ years of supervisory construction experience (GC experience strongly preferred)Proven ability to manage site activity, subcontractor performance, safety, and scheduleStrong technical understanding of building systems and construction means/methodsExperience in safety management, including OSHA requirements; OSHA 30, CPR, and First Aid required (or obtained shortly after hire)Proficiency with scheduling software, project management tools, and Microsoft OfficeExcellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skillsBachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred

Salary range: $105,000–$140,000 annuallyNote: Candidates whose experience aligns with Senior Superintendent responsibilities may be considered at a higher compensation range.
