Job SummaryWe are seeking an energetic and motivated Bagel/Coffee Shop Shift Leader to join our café team! In this all encompassing role, you will lead daily operations during your shift, ensuring exceptional customer service, efficient sandwich & beverage preparation, and smooth team coordination. As a key leader on the floor, you'll inspire your team to deliver high-quality bagels, coffee and food experiences while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop leadership skills within a fast-paced food service setting, all while fostering a lively and positive atmosphere for both customers and team members.We are especially looking for a positive, upbeat, problem solver who is proactive & gets the job done!
ResponsibilitiesOversee shift operations, including delegating tasks, and ensuring timely service.Prepare a variety of bagel sandwiches & beverages with precision and consistency, including coffee drinks, teas, and specialty beverages.Lead by example in delivering outstanding customer service; address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly. Understand the importance of hospitality & our community.Excited to take ownership of busy shifts. Keeps cool & calm.Process retail sales transactions accurately using Square POS systems, handle cash and credit card payments efficiently.Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards across the café area, including food handling and beverage preparation stations.Support team training on food safety protocols, POS procedures, and product knowledge to ensure high standards are met.Train new team members and bring them up to high Bageler standardAssist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of beverages, food items, and supplies; communicate needs to management daily.Expected to open and close store safely & efficientlyManage day to day operations with no direct oversight
Skills & RequirementsAt least 1 year experience as a shift leadAt least 2 year restaurant/cafe experience preferredFlexible weekday schedule with full weekend availability (opening shift: 6am, closing shift: 4pm)Available during holidays seasonsHas a sense of urgency in regards to all dutiesAble to work under pressure in fast paced environmentsProven experience working in a cafe with strong food & beverage service skills; previous barista experience preferred.Have experience with food preparation equipment (ovens, turbo ovens, slicers) & have experience following recipes.Familiarity with POS systemsExcellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers.Strong time management skills to handle multiple orders efficiently during busy periods.Knowledge of food handling safety standards and proper cleaning procedures in a food industry environment.Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate team members and support shift operations effectively.Willing to go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfactionJoin us as a Shift Leader where your enthusiasm for bagels & coffee and dedication to service will energize our team! xzbcwsv We value proactive leaders who thrive in lively settings and are eager to grow their skills within the food service industry.
