Role Purpose

The Manager – Legal & External Affairs is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with Police, Government Authorities, and Regulatory Agencies to ensure uninterrupted business operations. The role requires effective liaison, crisis management, regulatory coordination, and timely intervention to safeguard business continuity.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Police, Government Departments, Municipal Authorities, Regulatory Bodies, and other external stakeholders.
• Ensure business continuity by proactively identifying, managing, and resolving issues that may disrupt operations.
• Represent the organization before law enforcement agencies and government authorities on matters related to business operations.
• Handle law and order situations, public disturbances, employee issues, protests, strikes, regulatory inspections, and other critical incidents in a mature and professional manner.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to provide timely support during operational disruptions and emergencies.
• Liaise with external agencies to obtain approvals, resolve operational challenges, and ensure statutory compliance.
• Support investigations, police complaints, legal notices, and interactions with regulatory authorities.
• Monitor external risks and recommend preventive measures to minimize business impact.
• Prepare incident reports, management updates, and documentation related to external affairs and critical issues.

Qualifications & Experience

• Graduate/Postgraduate in Law, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related discipline.
• Experience in Legal & External Affairs, Government Relations, Corporate Security, Public Affairs, or Regulatory Compliance.
• Proven experience in dealing with Police, Government Departments, and external agencies.
• Experience in retail, e-commerce, logistics, FMCG, or a fast-paced operational environment will be an added advantage.

Work Requirements

• Willingness to travel extensively based on business requirements.
• Must be available to respond to business disruptions, emergencies, and critical incidents at any time, including weekends and public holidays.
• Willing to work extended hours whenever required to ensure business continuity.
• Capable of managing multiple stakeholders and making quick decisions under pressure while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
