Our client builds and maintains some of the most sophisticated point-to-point microwave wireless networks in the world — mission-critical infrastructure for high-performance financial technology operations. They’re looking for a Tower Microwave Field Engineer to join a team that takes quality, safety, and technical excellence seriously.
This is a role for someone motivated, physically capable, and hungry to develop. They want sharp, enthusiastic engineers who want to be challenged and keep growing — not someone coasting on years of experience. Contract to hire, van provided and kept at home, all travel expenses covered.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Respond promptly to network outages and troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair microwave and wireless equipment on tower and rooftop structuresInstall, commission, and maintain point-to-point microwave infrastructure — antenna alignment, path commissioning, and signal validationNew construction and maintenance of wireless infrastructure across towers, rooftops, and other communication structuresTerminate and splice fibre using cutting-edge equipment and techniquesSafely operate vehicles, rigging equipment, and capstan winchesBecome the on-site technical resource for sub-contractors during new constructionProvide daily reporting on job progress, operational issues, and timeline updatesParticipate in ongoing training and complete all mandatory company certifications
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
2–3 years of wireless/microwave networking experience — this is the core technical requirement2+ years of climbing experience — comfortable on towers up to 600 feetMust hold a current Authorized Climber/Rescue course certificateValid US passport and driving licence — 70% travel is a reality of this roleField engineering experience — installation and commissioning on communication structuresMotivated, enthusiastic, and eager to develop — they’re building a high-performing teamReliable and predictable availability
PREFERRED / NICE TO HAVE
Microwave antenna installation, path alignment, and troubleshooting experienceOSHA 10 certificationFibre knowledge — fusion splicing and OTDR troubleshootingRF theory and signal flow understandingExperience with AC/DC power systemsSpectrum Analyzer and Cable/Antenna Analyzer troubleshootingKnowledge of industry best practices for cabling, safety, and rigging
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to climb all structure types up to 600 feet — majority between 150–400 feetComfortable working outside in all weather conditions for extended periodsRegularly lifting and carrying equipment up to 75 lbs, occasionally moreLong-haul driving — typically 1–4 hours, occasionally up to 10 hours in a shiftFlexibility for overtime, evenings, on-call, and occasional weekend work
