ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking an R&D Engineer for a leader in sustainable wood products and building solutions. This would be a great opportunity for someone with which would be a great opportunity for someone with experience with civil/structural engineering within wood products engineering. This is a unique opportunity to join a well established company re-engaging their R&D engine to create new products!
• Develop innovative wood-based building solutions using structural analysis, engineering principles, and mechanical testing• Apply building codes and design standards (IBC, IRC, NDS, ASCE) to evaluate code compliance and inform product development pathways• Design, plan, and oversee structural testing programs including test configuration, execution, data analysis, and technical reporting• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and wood science teams to advance products from concept development through pilot evaluation and commercialization• Support product enhancements and identify development pathways for new products in support of market objectives
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or related Engineering discipline• Professional Engineer (PE) license required• 5+ years of professional engineering experience with strong knowledge of North American building codes (IBC, IRC, NDS) and structural design principles• Experience with wood design, engineered wood products, or building materials; demonstrated expertise in structural analysis and technical problem-solving
