Position SummaryHaas Media LLC is recruiting an experienced Construction Project Manager on behalf of a leading infrastructure company for a major design-build project involving a new borough-based jail in New York City.
The Construction Project Manager will oversee day-to-day construction management and project delivery activities, ensuring that work is completed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, applicable codes, safety requirements, and quality standards. The successful candidate will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, monitor contractor performance, maintain project documentation, and support the effective management of project scope, budget, schedule, and resources. Important Requirements: This is a full-time, in-person position in New York City. Candidates must be located in New York and able to work on-site. Applicants must also be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide construction management and administration services for a major design-build project.Support the Senior Project Manager in monitoring contractor compliance with approved plans, specifications, and applicable codes and regulations.Document construction activities, monitor project progress, and identify conditions that could result in deficiencies or unsatisfactory work.Coordinate construction management personnel, including inspectors, schedulers, estimators, site safety professionals, and document control staff.Collaborate with the design team, program controls team, community outreach team, and other project stakeholders.Interface with construction contractors, including management personnel, foremen, and field supervisors, to support effective project execution.Identify deficient work, verify corrective actions, and ensure issues are documented and resolved.Apply program-level policies and procedures to project-specific activities.Maintain accurate project records, including contracts, drawings, correspondence, progress reports, permits, and regulatory compliance documentation.Monitor contractor compliance with safety and health plans and project-specific safe work plans, documenting issues and tracking corrective actions through resolution.Monitor contractor compliance with approved quality plans in coordination with quality specialists, contractors, and stakeholder representatives.Communicate with the client regarding project scope, budget, staffing, and management needs while maintaining a strong working relationship.
Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of eight (8) years of experience working on construction projects.Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.Ability to learn new concepts, systems, and processes quickly.Proficiency in construction management software and project management tools.Demonstrated organizational, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred QualificationsExperience managing construction projects of varying complexity using traditional and alternative project delivery methods, including design-build.High-rise construction experience is preferred.Experience working with New York City public agencies.Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience fostering a collaborative work environment.Ability to identify project challenges, develop practical solutions, and drive issues to resolution. xzbcwsv
