Senior Stress Analyst

Job Description
Senior Stress Analyst | Launch Vehicles & Propulsion
We are working with an ambitious, well-funded space company developing next-generation launch technology, with a mission to make access to space dramatically more affordable, reliable, and frequent.
They're looking for a Senior Stress / Structural Analyst to take technical ownership of critical flight hardware, working across launch vehicle structures, propulsion systems, or both.
This isn't a role where you'll just be handed a model, asked to run FEA, and move on. You'll have genuine influence over engineering decisions, work closely with design and test teams, and help shape how structural analysis is performed across the program.
What you'll be doing:
- Own structural integrity and substantiation for key flight-critical hardware and subsystems.
- Lead complex stress analysis covering static strength, buckling, fatigue, and fracture mechanics.
- Develop and validate FEA models using ANSYS, NASTRAN, or similar tools.
- Work directly with design and test engineers to take hardware from initial analysis through physical validation.
- Establish structural requirements, define load cases, and contribute to design decisions.
- Provide technical leadership, review analysis, and mentor other engineers.
What we're looking for:
- 7+ years of structural/stress analysis experience in aerospace, launch vehicles, propulsion, or similarly demanding hardware environments.
- Strong fundamentals in structural mechanics, fatigue, fracture, and stability.
- Hands-on experience with commercial FEA software (ANSYS preferred).
- Experience taking ownership of structural analysis, rather than simply executing predefined tasks.
- Familiarity with Python/MATLAB and structural testing is advantageous.
Why consider it?
✅ Real ownership – Be the technical authority for critical hardware, with a direct impact on flight readiness.
✅ Interesting engineering – Solve challenging structural problems associated with high-performance, reusable aerospace systems.
✅ Breadth of exposure – Opportunities to work across vehicle structures and propulsion rather than being confined to a narrow specialty.
✅ Small-team environment – Work alongside exceptional engineers, with genuine autonomy and minimal bureaucracy.
✅ Long-term upside – Competitive compensation, equity, comprehensive benefits, and the opportunity to grow alongside an ambitious space program.
✅Great Benefits - including full insurance coverage, 401 match, and 6 weeks total PTO.
If you're a stress analyst who wants to see your engineering decisions translate into real flight hardware, I'd be keen to have a conversation.
