Preschool Bus Driver

Job TitleClient Information - A nonprofit community center founded in 1984. Services including: preschool, food pantry, Senior Program, GED/HSE program and ESL program.Job Summary - Responsible for ensuring the health, safety and welfare of children, seniors, staff and other passengers during bus transportation.Job DutiesDrive gasoline, powered 25 passenger bus to transport students between neighborhoods, schools, school activities and programs.Maintain the safe operating condition, fuel and cleanliness of the vehicle, immediately reporting any problems to the Director of Operations.Follow strict time schedules when picking up and dropping off students at regularly scheduled neighborhood locations.Communicate with staff and parents to adjust route & schedule as necessary.Read maps, and follow written and verbal geographic directions.Prepare and submit reports that may include the number of passengers or trips, hours worked, mileage, fuel consumption, and or fares received.Follow driving and child safety rules.Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health and safety obligations.Regulate heating, lighting and ventilation systems for passenger comfort; conduct pre and post event evaluations and report on outcomes.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsA valid commercial driver's license or chauffeur license to operate a bus; clean driving recordHigh School diploma or equivalent1-3 years of driving experience; working for a childcare facility a plusFlexibility in working hours to accommodate organization needsAbility to pass fingerprint clearance testMust be 21 years of ageHours: M-F 7a to 4:30pm (1 hour lunch); or 8am to 5:30pm (1 hour lunch)Pay: $16.00 to $18.00 hourly to start; competitive health insurance incentives and benefits
