We are partnering with a growing construction organization in the Nashville area to identify a Chief Financial Officer to lead and strengthen its finance and accounting function.This is a highly hands-on opportunity for a finance leader who enjoys stepping into an evolving environment, solving problems, improving processes, and building the infrastructure needed to support future growth. During the first 6–12 months, the CFO will work closely with the day-to-day accounting operation before evolving into a more strategic leadership role.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the overall finance and accounting function, including AP, AR, payroll, financial reporting, and construction accountingEstablish and improve accounting processes, controls, and reportingProvide hands-on leadership while the department and organizational structure continue to evolveOversee WIP reporting, job costing, and other construction-specific financial processesSupport the company's transition to VistaEvaluate existing processes and identify opportunities for improvementHelp build out the accounting team and future organizational structurePartner with the leadership team to provide financial insight and support business decisionsLead thoughtfully through change, balancing process improvement with the need for organizational stability
Ideal Background10+ years of accounting and finance leadership experience within the construction industryStrong understanding of WIP, job costing, and construction accountingAsphalt, paving, road construction, or a closely related construction background is highly preferredHands-on leadership style with the ability to operate close to the detailsExperience improving accounting processes and systemsExperience with Vista is a plus; experience with other ERP platforms such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP is also valuableStrong change-management skills and the ability to assess an organization before implementing significant changesComfortable building and developing an accounting organizationOpen to an accomplished Controller who is ready to step into a CFO opportunity
