Job Description
Indirect Loan Officer Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Indirect Loan Officer to join a growing financial institution. This role is responsible for evaluating and approving indirect consumer loan applications, maintaining strong dealer relationships, and delivering exceptional service to members and business partners. The ideal candidate has a strong background in indirect auto lending, sound credit judgment, and the ability to make timely lending decisions while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies. Key Responsibilities Review, analyze, and make credit decisions on indirect consumer loan applications within assigned lending authority. Interview applicants, process loan applications, prepare loan documentation, and coordinate loan closings. Build and maintain strong relationships with automotive, marine, and other indirect lending partners. Communicate with dealers, members, and third parties regarding loan products, application status, and financing options. Maintain loan production goals while monitoring portfolio quality and delinquency levels. Cross-sell financial products and services by identifying member needs and recommending appropriate solutions. Assist members with account-related questions and provide professional, high-quality customer service by phone and in person. Process transactions accurately using loan origination systems, credit bureau platforms, and other lending technologies. Assist with collections on assigned delinquent accounts. Perform quality assurance reviews and support internal audits to ensure compliance with lending policies and procedures. Train and mentor team members while promoting service excellence and regulatory compliance. Collaborate with departments across the organization to support operational efficiency and member satisfaction. Maintain accurate records while safeguarding confidential financial information. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 3 years of indirect auto lending experience . Experience evaluating and approving or declining consumer auto loans within established lending authority. Strong understanding of dealership lending practices and indirect financing. Preferred Qualifications Advanced knowledge of consumer lending, credit analysis, and loan underwriting. Experience working in a financial institution or consumer lending environment. Familiarity with loan origination systems and credit bureau platforms. Knowledge & Skills Strong credit analysis and underwriting skills. Knowledge of consumer lending regulations and compliance requirements, including fair lending and consumer protection laws. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail. Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with dealers, members, and internal teams. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and lending software. Additional Requirements Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment. Regular, reliable attendance. Valid Texas driver's license and proof of current automobile insurance. Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid) Compensation: $70,000 - $82,000 Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision and 401k Match
