This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Customer Insights based in United States. The Director, Customer Insights will lead a strategic function focused on turning customer, commercial, and market data into actionable insights that drive growth and stronger business decisions. This senior leadership role will shape the vision, operating model, governance, and capabilities of the Customer Insights organization. You will serve as a trusted advisor to Sales, Key Account Management, Marketing, Commercial Operations, and senior leadership. Your work will influence commercial planning, customer segmentation, sales effectiveness, resource allocation, and strategic growth initiatives. The role combines people leadership, analytics, commercial strategy, stakeholder influence, and innovation in a highly matrixed environment. You will build scalable reporting, measurement, and intelligence capabilities while introducing new approaches to automation, visualization, predictive analytics, and customer intelligence. - Establish the vision, strategy, priorities, governance, and operating model for the Customer Insights function, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives and broader enterprise priorities.
- Lead, develop, and empower a high-performing insights organization by establishing clear roles, ownership models, engagement practices, and capability-development priorities.
- Act as a strategic advisor to Sales, Key Account Management, Marketing, Commercial Operations, and senior leadership by translating complex business questions into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Oversee commercial analytics, executive scorecards, business reviews, dashboards, KPI reporting, pricing and contract analytics, and tools supporting account planning and commercial effectiveness.
- Direct customer segmentation, targeting, opportunity identification, market intelligence, and customer analytics initiatives to improve prioritization, customer coverage, engagement, and commercial activation.
- Lead analytics support for annual sales planning, strategic planning, commercial transformation, resource allocation, scenario analysis, and growth initiatives.
- Build strong cross-functional partnerships across Sales, Marketing, Commercial Operations, Digital and Commercial Innovation, Data Science, IT, Finance, and executive leadership.
- Champion innovation in reporting, automation, visualization, predictive analytics, customer intelligence platforms, and emerging technologies to accelerate insight delivery and measurable business impact.
- Deliver trusted and actionable insights that inform executive and leadership decisions while improving commercial performance and customer engagement.
- Develop scalable reporting, measurement, and business intelligence capabilities that strengthen organizational alignment and decision-making.
- Establish strong stakeholder relationships and promote adoption of analytics-driven recommendations across the commercial organization.
- Use performance metrics and business intelligence to identify opportunities, manage trade-offs, and support effective execution.
- Lead change initiatives and influence matrixed teams to ensure new processes, tools, and insights are effectively adopted.
- Mentor and develop team members while building a strong, diverse, and future-ready talent pipeline.
- Bachelor’s degree required; a degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred.
- At least 7 years of relevant commercial experience, preferably within healthcare or a related industry, including experience across sales, sales leadership, marketing, or professional education.
- 3–5 years of demonstrated people leadership experience, including experience developing teams and managing through organizational change.
- Proven ability to lead within complex, matrixed organizations and operate with an enterprise-wide mindset.
- Strong understanding of customer needs and demonstrated ability to use data and analytics to improve targeting, commercial performance, and decision-making.
- Demonstrated success leading strategic planning and complex projects with measurable business outcomes.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to use metrics to assess performance, evaluate trade-offs, and guide business decisions.
- Proven experience translating analytics into strategic choices, executive-level narratives, and actionable recommendations.
- Strong customer intelligence, commercial analytics, performance measurement, and sales effectiveness capabilities.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and collaborate effectively across functions without relying solely on formal authority.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, develop, and retain talent while creating an inclusive, accountable, and high-performing team environment.
- Strong change leadership and adoption-management capabilities, with confidence operating in evolving business environments.
- Strategic thinking combined with strong operational discipline across prioritization, governance, performance management, and execution.
- Excellent communication, storytelling, consulting, and presentation skills, with the ability to make complex information accessible to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Approximately 25–50% travel is expected.
- The position may be based in Raritan, New Jersey; Cincinnati, Ohio; or remotely within the United States.
- Base salary: Anticipated annual base pay range of $150,000–$258,750, with compensation determined according to applicable factors and role requirements.
- Performance bonus: Eligibility for an annual performance-based cash bonus tied to individual and organizational results.
